Matthew Rogers is graduating with an MFA in Lighting Design. He’s originally from nowhere specific but his dry wit and giddy attitude towards trains pretty much makes him a midwesterner. There are several designs in recent history he’s proud of, Lathe of Heaven and Particularly in the Heartland being notable, but The Way We Said Goodbye, his thesis, holds the number one position. It featured immersive and interactive experiences; two key ideas Mathew would like to cultivate in his work for a long time. He prefers gobos over color, but his favorite color is Lee 728, Steel Green. He is easily agitated on many subjects, and the need for more green light in lighting designs is at the top of the rant list. He has no favorite gobo, but there are several he disdains.
